HERTZ JEWELERS SHARES GRAND OPENING SPOTLIGHT WITH FORGOTTEN SOLDIERS OUTREACH, INC. CHARITY
Veterans Honored at Inaugural H.A.V.E. Fundraising Gala
(April 21, 2011) Boynton Beach, FL – Hertz Jewelers is opening its third retail location in Boynton Beach next month while simultaneously raising awareness to the Forgotten Soldiers Outreach, Inc. Far from conventional, this exciting occasion will also host the first H.A.V.E. (Help a Solider Every Day) Fundraising Gala on May 6. Scott Hertz, owner of the very successful jewelry stores, held a jewelry design contest at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale in March, where the winning designs would become specially-crafted pieces donated for war veterans to gift their moms just in time for Mother‟s Day. The students are also assisting with planning the event, and will be providing live models to display the best heartfelt jewelry designs.
Founded by Lynelle Chauncey Zelnar, Forgotten Soldiers Outreach, Inc. began as a small but mighty effort to collect care package supplies to send to lonely soldiers in all branches of the military serving in Iraq, Afghanistan and the world over. Five packages were initially shipped within one week, and the response for continued help was overwhelming. Today, Forgotten Soldiers Outreach, Inc. has grown to become a nationally recognized organization that has helped well over 100,000 of our military personnel. Each week Forgotten Soldiers Outreach receives a multitude of calls with names of new soldiers that could use some encouragement. The organization consists of approximately 100 „active‟ volunteers in South Florida.
"I‟m looking at this thing from a totally different perspective. Even though I should be thinking about making money, I‟m not. All I want to do is help," Hertz said of his contribution to the event, which he has planned in conjunction with the Fashion Honors Group at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale.
Local jewelry artisan Scott Hertz eagerly anticipates continuing his efforts with Forgotten Soldiers Outreach Inc. and hopes to host an annual H.A.V.E. Fundraising Gala for many years to come.
